
Director of Communication/Public Relation Officer for (ICOTTHUSA) Chief Alex Ike Okeke (Duru Akaekpuchionwa) is from Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Governmental Area of Anambra State.
Chief Okeke attended Alabama A & M University Huntsville Alabama and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After that he attended Howard University Washington, DC for Master's of Science Degree program in Civil Engineering. He also attended Bowie State University Graduate School in Bowie Maryland and earned a Graduate Certificate and credits towards Master's of Art Degree in Management Information Systems. Since graduation, he has been working with Maryland Department of Transportation as a Senior Highway Engineer. For his love for humanity, Alex further went and earned another Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Stevenson University in Baltimore Maryland (formally known as Villa Julie College).
In 1989 he was listed in "Outstanding Young Men In America". While in the University, he served in the Student Government Association of Alabama A& M University as the Student Government Parliamentarian - first International student ever to be elected in the A & M Student Organization Association Office. He also served as the Secretary to the International Student Organization of the same University. Due to his active involvement in school Politics and Community Leadership, he was included in the "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities" in 1981.
In Maryland suburb where he resides with his wife and children, Alex is known for his social, leadership, humanitarian and political activities. He is the founding President of Anambra State Association USA Baltimore Metropolitan Branch, a non-profit association of Anambra State citizens living in Baltimore Maryland. He was the National Publicity Secretary for Anambra State Association USA (ASA-USA) (2006-2010), a non-profit association of Anambra State citizens living in the United States of America. He is an active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. He is an active member of the African American Engineers group at Maryland State Highway Administration.
His aspirations to work for the good of Nigeria have led him to become a founding member of the Nigerian Policy Council (NIPOC), anon-partisan, non-profit institutional think-thank that advocates, through policy initiatives, a well governed Nigeria committed to global peace and the betterment of the life of its citizens. Alex is a member of NDERG, an organization of twenty plaintiffs that sued the Federal Government and INEC for the voting right of all Nigerians in Diaspora.
