N'DI ECHIRI ECHICHI, M'MAMA NU!
It is my pleasure to convey this message of goodwill to all Igbo traditional titles holders resident in the Diaspora and to our fellow titled men in Igbo land. it is not an over-statement to say that everyone in the Igbo community and beyond understands the enormity of disrespect and deplorable state in which our cherished chieftaincy institution and traditional ruling system in Nigeria, in particular, finds itself. To put it in a plain language, "the chieftaincy institution in Igbo land has been badly bastardized by greedy and unscrupulous few , such that it no longer commands an atom of respect in the face of those (other members of the community) who look up to the titled men as role models. However, the problem is not too late to amend or rectify. Therefore, if you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem, so to speak! this is the time to stand-up and be counted among the noble 'Think Tank Group' of Igbo Titled Men, ICOTTHUSA, whose objective is not politically driven, but to inject sanity, respect, diligence and uprightness in the Igbo traditional institution and the community at-large. this is the cornerstone of our mission and I am proud to profess it.
Membership to this apex Igbo council of traditional title holders in the Diaspora is open to all officially recognized Igbo title holders, chiefs, nzes and ozos. It is important to emphasize that a member's title must be earned and/or certified by the traditional ruler of his autonomous community.
Finally, let's come together under one umbrella, ICOTTH USA, to make sure that Ndi Igbo speak with one voice in matters of mutual interest and to preserve the Igbo cultural heritage so as to be able to transmit them to the new generation; hence a society served by persons gifted with profound moral perspicacity always promote justice and peace.
Udo diri unu!
